A BRIEF HISTORY

Royce Wallace, president and founder of Wallace Roofing, began his roofing career in Greenville, Texas in 1975. While attending high school, he was employed by a local building contractor/remodeler and became experienced in various building trades, which included several types of commercial roofing. In 1976 he began his studies at Abilene Christian University with a major in Industrial Management, which included studies in drafting, shop, and building trades. Over the next five years, while attending the University, he engaged in part-time and full-time jobs such as health club membership sales, sports apparel modeling, interviewing for extras in the motion picture industry, restaurant management training, various building construction trades, real estate sales, and oil field equipment sales.

Royce's business venture began in the spring of 1981 with the forming of a business partnership called Armadillo Construction Company. He and his partners secured contracts to supply labor and materials to several large property management companies, general contractors, and home builders in Abilene, Texas. In 1982 the other two partners (Bruce Miller and James Lindeman) sold their interest to Royce and he assumed complete ownership of the company. Shortly thereafter he moved the company's operations to the Dallas area, where he has continued operations in new construction and remodeling and re-roofing. In 1987 the company name was changed to Royce D Wallace Enterprise. It received a Corporate Charter in the fall of 1993, adding "Inc." to the name, and filed the assumed name Wallace Roofing (a division of Royce D Wallace Enterprise Inc.).

Wallace Roofing has many satisfied customers in the Dallas Fort Worth area and in cities all across Texas.

In many cases the quality of the new installation is superior to the prior installation due to a continuing effort by Wallace Roofing to improve upon commonly accepted roofing practices. Wallace offers a wide variety of roofing brands and high availability because of long relationships and good credit standing with nationwide roofing wholesalers and manufacturers. Wallace also offers the benefit of many years' experience of organizing projects and labor crews, which reduces the risks normally associated with the re-roofing industry. Wallace offers many other areas of exterior remodeling expertise, which include installation of attic ventilation systems, gutter replacement, decking replacement, and soffit and fascia replacement.
